March of Dimes Event

Please Join Northside Hospital Forsyth & Key Photography in Supporting the March of Dimes Fight To Give Babies A Healthy Start to Life!

Key Photography is teaming up with Northside Hospital Forsyth to help raise money for the Forsyth County March of Dimes. We are honored to participate in this great mission to help prevent birth defects in babies and enable families to have a healthy and happy beginning.

On March 4, March 9, and March 16 from 4 pm – 9 pm Key Photography is holding mini portrait sessions inside the beautiful lobby of the new Northside Hospital Forsyth Women’s Center. ALL proceeds will go straight to the March of Dimes. We are requiring a minimum $25 donation in the form of a check, made out directly to the March of Dimes. In return you will receive a FREE 8X10 gift portrait from Key Photography.

Furthermore, with each donation made, Northside Hospital Forsyth has very graciously agreed to match dollar for dollar of each check collected … plan to give big if you are able to, as this is for such a great cause. A minimum amount of $25 however, is what will help us raise funds for Forsyth County’s March of Dimes! Remember that this is a wonderful and generous way to help babies begin healthy.

Here is how to participate: call the Northside Hospital Forsyth at 770.844.3635 for inquiries or to schedule your portrait session.

Would love to see you there!

We would like to encourage you to come out and give big! Key Photography is making a very special offer to those who make a donation of $100 or more. When you write a check of $100 or more to the March of Dimes for this event we will give you a gift of a FREE on location portrait session with Key Photography as well as a $100 in credit with the Key Photography Studio to be used anytime during the next year (excluding specials).

Taste of Love

Last Saturday was this year’s annual Taste of Love event at the Ritz Carlton, a benefit for the Epilepsy Foundation of Georgia. Keith had the great honor of photographing the event along side fellow photographer and friend Eric Richards.

This year’s guest of honor and speaker was Atlanta Falcon Running Back, Jason Snelling. While playing football for the University of Virginia in 2005, Jason was diagnosed with epilepsy. Instead of letting this news put an end to his football career, Jason pushed forward and two years later was drafted by the Falcons. Now he speaks openly of his struggles in order to encourage others and show children with a similar diagnosis that not only can you go on to live a normal life, you can even achieve your life long dreams.

The rest of the night consisted of great food, music, and auctions, both silent and live.  It is probably a good thing Keith had his hands full capturing the event with his camera because an album autographed by Jimmy Buffet was on the block that night. Other interesting items included a guitar signed by B.B.King and a malti-poo puppy that went to a good home for more that $2,000.

As you can see from above, the tables were dressed in shades of black and silver with ceterpieces made of red roses, green orchids, and apples, which complimented the theme of the event. The Ritz Carlton in Atalanta is always a beautiful place to hold an event and that night was no exception.

Beloved: “Saggin’ But Not Draggin’”

If you have been to our site in the past week you may have noticed a little change. We have added  some music from one of our favorites, Beloved. The fabulous trio of women is from right here in Georgia and have graciously allowed us to play their songs to compliment our work, and we couldn’t be more excited.  Although we are honored to share their message with you through sharing their music on our site we are also excited to share their upcoming work as well.

Some may know them just as a singing group, but there is so much more to them. They have taken their God given talents and are using them to minister to women through music and laughter, special retreats, and even their very own line of makeup.  If you are already a fan of Beloved then hold on to your hats because coming soon to a television near you is their reality TV show entitled, “Saggin’ But Not Draggin”. It is the Beloved reality show style! Click the link to watch a little preview of what is in store.

Puppy Love

There aren’t many things in this world as cute as a puppy’s face, except maybe for the face of a child when they receive their first pet. This post is for dog lovers and especially for those of you who adopted a dog into your home this Christmas. The video is just a little reminder as to why you need to call us and set up a time to capture those all too brief puppy days. 770.205.5275

Babies in Hats

I just got done working on this little boy’s session and I just had to share a few of my favorites. Babies in hats are so adorable!

Merry Christmas T. Blue

As we celebrate the birth of Christ during this joyous time of year we also are saddened by the loss of a dear friend that many of you know and love.  When our family first met T. Blue “Santa” Sanderson, our oldest children were barely two years old.  We were amazed at the interaction between T. Blue and the kids and how authentic it seemed to be between “Santa” and children.  As they grew up and would see other “Santas” at the mall and in other places, they would say “that’s not the real Santa; the real Santa goes to our church and sings in the choir”.  We would watch other children interact with Santa all year long and it was great fun to watch their expressions at church when around September they would begin thinking about Christmas and telling him in the parking what they wanted from their list.  For some children it has always been a reminder to be on their P’s and Q’s so they would stay on the “nice list”.  Those are just a few of the many special memories we have of Santa … there are many more.  As we told our children this morning of the loss of our wonderful friend, our youngest, Carmen began to cry and said we had so many good times with him.

The one thing that has always meant the most to me is his eagerness to always share the real meaning of Christmas and help us to keep Jesus foremost in our minds and hearts during the season.  Today as we were in church and singing I couldn’t help but visualize him worshiping with the angels and praising Jesus in person.  He has always been solid in his faith and beliefs and so eager to share Jesus with others … because Jesus is the reason for the season.  Even though he lived a life as Santa and reflected his jolly, happy spirit to those around him it was more evident to see the joy of Christ reflected in his life.

As this has been a difficult time in T. Blue going home to be with Jesus, their family has also faced other family members being hospitalized or having surgeries.  Please keep Beth, their children and their families  in your prayers during this difficult time and pray that God will graciously envelop the “presents” of His grace and comfort around them all.

A Formal Introduction

Sandy has been encouraging us all to post some of our favorite work onto the blog. I always have trouble picking just one or two favorites so I am going with a short video instead. This is from a very formal portrait session we did with several different families. Too often people equate formal with stuffy and boring, but I hope these fun and engaging children will open your eyes to all the possibilities available under the “formal” heading.

I’d like to thank Strasburg Children for loaning us the clothes worn by the children in this video.
